Job description

Living Well Psychotherapy is seeking a full-time Clinical Psychologist & Psychological Assessor (Ph.D., Psy.D.) to join our growing practice in Evanston, Illinois. Our ideal candidate is a warm, empathic, and skilled clinician with experience in both therapy and psychological assessment. At Living Well Psychotherapy, our integrative approach emphasizes a holistic model of well-being, incorporating mental, physical, and spiritual health. We seek clinicians who are interested in EMDR, IFS, Somatic Therapy, Mindfulness, and other body-based modalities, alongside psychodynamic, family systems, and attachment-based approaches.

We provide continuity of care across the lifespan, offering services for children, adolescents, and adults in individual, couple, and family therapy formats. Additionally, we conduct psychological assessments to support diagnostic clarity, treatment planning, and client insight. We offer both in-person and teletherapy services.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Clinical Psychologist with experience in both therapy and psychological assessment. Prior experience in a private practice setting or conducting long-term therapy and assessments is preferred. The psychologist in this role will provide direct clinical services and conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, including but not limited to cognitive, personality, ADHD, autism, and learning disability evaluations.

  • Holds a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an accredited program.
  • Licensed (or license-eligible) as a Clinical Psychologist in Illinois.
  • Experienced in conducting neuropsychological assessments, including test administration, interpretation, and report writing.
  • Skilled in evidence-based therapeutic modalities, particularly in trauma-informed care (EMDR, IFS, Somatic Therapy, Mindfulness, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal, professional, and clinical skills.
  • Committed to continued growth in psychotherapy and assessment practices.
  • Enthusiastic about collaborative team-based work.
  • Ability to balance therapy and assessment caseloads effectively.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide individual, couples, and family therapy for clients across the lifespan.
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of counseling or treatments and the accuracy and completeness of diagnoses, modifying plans or diagnoses as necessary.
  • Customize testing battery per presenting problem or reported concern.
  • Write detailed psychological reports with appropriate recommendations.
  • Refer clients to other specialists, institutions, or support services as necessary.
  • Utilize trauma-informed therapeutic approaches and maintain best practices in psychological assessment.
  • Complete timely documentation, including session notes, treatment plans, and diagnostic impressions.
  • Consult with other providers, professionals, or psychiatrists as needed.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and practice-wide training opportunities.
  • Participate in peer consultation and team meetings to foster a supportive clinical culture.
