Job summary

Heritage Behavioral Health Center is seeking a licensed Psychologist to strengthen screening, assessment, diagnostic, and risk assessment services across the lifespan. The role involves comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological evaluations and collaboration with clinical teams to guide treatment planning.

The position is part-time (8 hours/week) and located in Decatur, IL, with competitive pay aligned to licensure, education, and experience.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in psychology from an accredited program.
• Active Illinois license as Clinical Psychologist.
• Experience with psychological and neuropsychological evaluations.
• Experience working with children, adolescents, and adults across clinical presentations.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assessment: Conduct psychological and neuropsychological evaluations per licensed psychologist standards.
• Accept referrals across lifespan, including cases needing diagnostic clarification.
• Complete psychological examinations for youth prior to residential placement.
• Perform risk assessments to guide care and planning.
• Synthesize interviews, testing, and collateral data into diagnostic impressions and recommendations.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to integrate findings into treatment plans.
• Complete timely, thorough evaluation reports compliant with agency and state standards.

We are a mission-driven Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic located in Decatur, Illinois, with services also provided in Clinton, Illinois, dedicated to improving mental health and substance use care to individuals in a multi-county area. YOUR ROLE

The Psychologist will enhance Heritage's screening, assessment, diagnosis, and risk assessment services, providing psychological and neuropsychological evaluations across the lifespan and supporting clinical teams with diagnostic clarity for complex presentations.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assessment: Conduct psychological and neuropsychological evaluations as performed by a licensed clinical psychologist.
• Referrals Across the Lifespan: Accept referrals for individuals across the lifespan, including cases requiring diagnosis clarification.
• Complete psychological examinations for youth requiring evaluation prior to residential placement.
• Risk Assessment: Perform risk assessments to support safe, appropriate levels of care and treatment planning.
• Diagnostic Formulation: Synthesize clinical interview, testing, and collateral data into clear diagnostic impressions and recommendations.
• Collaboration: Partner with the multidisciplinary care team to integrate assessment findings into individualized treatment plans.
• Documentation: Complete timely, thorough evaluation reports in accordance with agency, state, and CCBHC standards.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Strong clinical judgment in differential diagnosis across a range of psychiatric and developmental presentations
• Proficiency in administering, scoring, and interpreting standardized psychological and neuropsychological test batteries
• Ability to communicate complex clinical findings clearly to clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Strong organizational skills to manage evaluation timelines and documentation requirements
• Sound ethical judgment consistent with APA and Illinois licensure standards

QUALIFICATIONS

• Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or a closely related field from an accredited program
• Active, unrestricted license as a Clinical Psychologist in the State of Illinois
• Experience conducting psychological and neuropsychological evaluations preferred
• Experience working with children, adolescents, and adults across a range of clinical presentations preferred
• A valid driver's license, reliable means of transportation, and proof of automobile insurance
