Job summary

All Star Healthcare Solutions represents a Minnesota facility seeking Child and Adolescent Psychiatry locums coverage in an inpatient unit. The assignment requires on-site presence for 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, rounding on all patients, and handling admissions/discharges with rounds approximately 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Start date is 12/01/2026 and is ongoing with a 10-hour guarantee. Candidates must be board-certified, hold Minnesota license or IMLC, and be comfortable with documentation of H&Ps and ED

Qualifications

• Board Certification required
• Minnesota license or IMLC required
• Inpatient psychiatry experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Pediatric/adolescent psychiatry licensure and scope appropriate for inpatient unit

Responsibilities

• Rounding on assigned patients daily (avg census 12) and managing admissions/discharges within 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Document H&Ps and ED exams as needed, with 80–90% of encounters documented from ED
• Collaborate with team to ensure continuous patient care during shifts and on-call needs
• Supervise and coordinate care for patients aged 3+ as appropriate to the unit mix
• Cover inpatient unit 7:00 AM–5:00 PM with 16-bed capacity and 12 patients per shift

Job description

All Star Healthcare represents a facility in Minnesota seeking Child and Adolescent Psychiatry locums coverage.

• To meet availability requirements, providers must be able to commit to all of the following dates in full:

  • 3/22-3/28

  • 5/24-5/30
  • 6/14-6/20
  • 7/12-7/18
  • 8/9-8/15
• Guarantee: 10-hour guarantee
• Overtime: Close to non-existent. Providers have worked with the facility for years without any overtime.
• Work Hours: Coverage of the unit from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Providers are expected to round on all patients daily (average census of 12 patients) and complete any admissions and discharges.
• Most physicians are onsite for rounds approximately 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, though this varies by provider preference.
• Providers must address any patient care needs that arise on the unit between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
• The inpatient unit can accept patients as young as 3 years old, depending on the current patient mix.
• If the unit consists primarily of teens, younger patients may not be admitted, even though the unit is technically able to accommodate them.
• H&Ps Required: Yes.
  • Approximately 80-90% of the time, providers will document that the exam completed in the ED
