Job summary

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC seeks a psychiatrist to provide on-site outpatient, inpatient, and emergency psychiatry for the Hampton VA Healthcare System in Hampton, VA, with possible travel to VA Beach. This 1099 position typically runs Mon-Fri 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with call and potential weekend duties.

Licensed physicians will participate in patient care, supervision of trainees, and documentation in VA systems. Schedule flexibility and changes are at the direction of Ansible or customers.

Qualifications

• MD or DO required for physician licensure.
• Active, unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (ABPN).
• Active DEA license and NPI (active or obtainable).
• AHA BLS certification is required.
• Must be able to pass a federal background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric care in outpatient, inpatient, and ED settings.
• Manage inpatient psychiatry patients including admissions and discharge planning.
• Evaluate and treat new referrals and crisis cases; develop treatment plans.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments, med renewals, and e-consults.
• Provide weekend/holiday coverage and after-hours telecommunication support.
• Supervise Residents, Interns, and APPs; document in CPRS/EHR within timelines.
• Enter prescriptions and orders using VA systems; participate in peer reviews.
