Job summary

Key Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric evaluations, treatment, and follow-up care while exercising independent medical judgment.
• Monitor psychotropic medications for effectiveness and side effects and adjust treatment as clinically indicated.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary leadership and care teams to ensure uniform psychiatric and mental health services.
• Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation and participate in required meetings, consultations, and on-call services.
• Support referrals, transfers, crisis intervention, and clinical collaboration with mental health and medical staff.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

• Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited university with psychiatry specialty training.

Experience

• Experience providing psychiatric services to an adult population.
• Experience in providing psychiatric services to an adolescent population is preferred for youth facility clinical assignments.
• Corrections experience is preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

• Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of practice.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in psychiatry.
• Current DEA registration (unless determined optional)
• Current BLS certification
