Job summary

Riverview Behavioral Health in Texarkana, AR seeks a full-time Inpatient Psychiatrist to treat adult and child/adolescent patients. The role involves diagnosing and treating mental illnesses through psychotherapy, hospitalization and/or medication, within established medical protocols.

The physician will provide clinical services, evaluate patients, and maintain accurate documentation while adhering to regulatory and organizational guidelines.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) is required.
• One or more years’ post graduate degree practice preferred.
• Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services to patients at the facility.
• Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as corporate policy.
• Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and offer medical recommendations.
• Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders.
• Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
• Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, documentation in a timely manner.
• Maintain confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with policy.

Education

Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO)

Licensed in the state in which the facility operates

Board certification in psychiatry

Riverview Behavioral Health is a 62-bed inpatient hospital treating individuals suffering from a mental health primary diagnosis from ages twelve and up. Our treatment center is located in Texarkana, AR serving the greater southwest Arkansas region.

We are currently seeking to add a Full-Time, Inpatient Psychiatrist to our skilled and patient focused team. This role will see both Adults, and Child & Adolescent patients.

About the role:

Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization and/or medication.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility.
• Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures.
• Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations.
• Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders.
• Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
• Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, documents services and information in a timely manner.
• Maintain confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
• One or more years’ post graduate degree practice preferred.
• Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate.

Licenses/Certifications:

• Board certification in psychiatry
• Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.
