Job summary

Pacific Grove Hospital in Riverside, CA is seeking a Full-Time Inpatient Psychiatrist to assess and treat patients within an acute psychiatric setting. The role involves diagnosis, psychotherapy, and medication management across an inpatient unit with 20-24 beds.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering inpatient psychiatric care is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical psychiatric services to inpatients.
• Review and interpret medical information to ensure stability and provide recommendations.
• Evaluate patients for mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders and determine treatment.
• Administer and manage psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate, confidential medical documentation and billing per policy.

We are currently seeking to add a Full-Time, Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our team!

About The Role

This role is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization and/or medication.

Pacific Grove Hospital is a 68-bed acute psychiatric and chemical dependency hospital. The one-story building is situated on 4.5 acres in the heart of Riverside, California. Our private hospital campus treats voluntary patients on three units. All of our units are self-contained with private courtyards, laundry facilities, patient lounges, and semi-private rooms.

Caseload

1 unit; 20-24 beds

Call Schedule

1 week (M-F) per month and 1 weekend per month

Schedule

Monday - Friday, flexible schedule during business hours

Compensation

1099 Contractor; Per eval and per follow up; $132.21hr - $168.27hr DOE

Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility
• Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures
• Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations
• Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders
• Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications
• Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, documents services and information in a timely manner
• Maintain confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures
• Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) REQUIRED
• One or more years’ post graduate degree practice preferred
• Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate

Licenses/Certifications

• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in psychiatry
• Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.
