Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem is seeking a Psychiatrist to join PAGNY in an inpatient role. The position focuses on adult inpatient psychiatric care, with flexible day shifts and a strong emphasis on collaborative, multidisciplinary teamwork within a Level 1 Trauma Center setting.

The candidate will develop treatment plans, manage EPIC records per NY State OMH regulations, supervise residents and researchers, and participate in didactic training programs.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible Psychiatrist for inpatient care.
• Active New York State Medical License required.
• Experience in adult inpatient psychiatry or similar setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric management for adults (18+) in an acute inpatient setting.
• Develop and implement treatment plans and manage EPIC documentation.
• Lead and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary inpatient team; supervise NPs, residents, and students.
• Participate in didactic training and quality improvement activities.
• Coordinate with consultants as needed and support resident/trainee education.

Opportunity Details:

• Provide psychiatric management for adults, age 18 and up, in an acute inpatient setting.
• Day shift -Schedules are flexible.
• Develop treatment plans and manage electronic medical record (EPIC) in accordance with New York State Office of Mental Health and other applicable regulations.
• Work with consultants as indicated by patient needs.
• Lead and collaborate with amulti-disciplinary inpatient team.
• SuperviseNurse Practitioners, Psychiatry Residents, and Medical Students.
• Participate in didactic training programs for psychiatric residents, medical students, psychology interns, and other trainees.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $267,900* (board eligible); $278,200* (board certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $438,690** (board eligible) and $450,020** (board certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:

• Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $104,000***.
• Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
• 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
  • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
• Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
• Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
• Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
