Job summary

Urban Health Plan in the Bronx seeks a Psychiatrist to join our outpatient behavioral health team and serve as core faculty for our newly accredited residency program launching in July 2026.

You will work with primary care, therapists, and care team members to improve mental health outcomes for diverse, underserved populations.

The role includes teaching and supervising psychiatry residents, with at least 10% of your time dedicated to education, in addition to patient care and EHR documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical School.
• Completion of approved Psychiatry residency.
• Board certification required with NYS and DEA license.
• At least 1 year of experience in a mental health outpatient setting or hospital.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning for patients.
• Collaborate with primary care and behavioral health teams using an integrated care approach.
• Participate in case conferences, peer reviews, and interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Teach and mentor psychiatry residents and trainees.

Position Summary: Our Behavioral Health Department employs community-driven and highly skilled clinicians to provide integrated care in our Health Centers. We are seeking a Psychiatrist to join our dynamic outpatient behavioral health team and serve as core faculty to our recently accredited residency program. The ideal candidate is passionate about serving diverse and underserved populations and is committed to collaborative, person-centered care. You will work in a multidisciplinary team of primary care providers, therapists, and other care team members to improve mental health outcomes for patients of all ages. In addition to patient care, a minimum of 10% of your time will be dedicated to teaching and supervising psychiatry residents and other learners.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical School
• Completion of approved residency in Psychiatry
• Board certification required . Valid NYS and DEA License.
• At least1year experience working ina previousmental health setting, outpatient clinic or hospital.
