Job summary

Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is hiring a Psychiatrist to provide care across outpatient, inpatient, and telehealth programs in Bremerton, WA. This full-time, on-site role focuses on patient-centered, recovery-oriented psychiatric services and collaborative care planning.

The ideal candidate holds an MD/DO with ABMS residency completion, WA licensure, and DEA registration. Board certification or eligibility and at least 5 years of relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• EDUCATION: Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (MD/DO).
• EXPERIENCE: Completion of ABMS Certified Residency.
• LICENSURE: MD/DO - Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy. Licensed to practice medicine in Washington.
• CERTIFICATION: Active and unencumbered DEA, registered in WA State. Board certified or board eligible.
• PREFERRED: Specialization in psychiatry. Minimum 5 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments to new, returning, and transferring patients with thorough documentation.
• Manage an ongoing caseload of patients requiring medication and non-medication management in various settings.
• Provide care in-person and via telehealth (audio-visual) when appropriate.
• Coordinate clinical decisions with team leaders and treatment partners.
• Participate in utilization management/review and learn coding guidelines for services.
• Educate teams about medication management, safety, and adverse effects.
• Document regularly and timely, including cross-coverage when needed.
