VitalCore Health Strategies is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist for the Woodland Center Correctional Facility in Whitmore Lake, Michigan. The clinician will provide diagnostic evaluation and treatment, supervise staff, and coordinate discharge planning within a correctional health program.

Responsibilities include on-site assessments, treatment planning, medication management, and opportunities for individual or group therapy. Michigan licensure and active DEA are required.

Formación

• Must be graduate of medical school and completed psychiatric residency.
• Licensed to practice in Michigan.
• Current DEA number.

Responsabilidades

• Provide onsite psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of inmates referred by staff.
• Provide written summaries of history, diagnosis and treatment course.
• Deliver inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services as needed.
• Supervise site staff and participate in treatment planning and reviews.
• Approve admissions/discharges to Behavioral Health Unit where applicable.
• Provide medication management and individual/group therapy as appropriate.
• Offer in-service education and participate in training meetings.

PSYCHIATRIST SCHEDULE

PSYCHIATRIST POSITION SUMMARY

The Site Psychiatrist provides diagnostic evaluation and treatment to patients as well as psychiatric consultation, diagnosis, and treatment to patients. The Site Psychiatrist provides clinical direction, general supervision, and training to the site staff, and has other managerial responsibilities. They approve, sign, and monitor the implementation and efficiency of all treatment plans. The Site Psychiatrist creates discharge plans to insure appropriate follow-up andsupport after discharge from the facility.

• Must be a graduate of medical school and have completed an appropriate psychiatric residency.
• Must be licensed to practice in the state of Michigan.
• Current DEA number.

PSYCHIATRIST ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Provide onsite psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of those inmates referred by the medical and clinicalservices staff.
• Provide written summaries of history, diagnosis and treatment course.
• Where applicable, provide psychiatric services for inpatients, assessment, diagnosis, staffing, treatment planning, and regular review of all inmates assigned.
• Where applicable, provide psychiatric services for all inmates referred to the Healthcare Unit for those inmates in the general population who need regular psychiatric/behavioral health follow up.
• Where applicable, provide psychiatric services for those inmates who need to be transferred to Behavioral Health facilities. Services to include work up and any court hearing testimony needed.
• Where applicable, act as regular Psychiatrist and participate in the treatment programming and planning for the
• Behavioral Health Unit (if applicable) duties include regular staffing and contact with Behavioral Health Unit staff and supervisor, discussion of problem cases, follow up and monitoring of medication, and general psychiatric input.
• Provide medication management to all inmates admitted.
• Provide individual and/or group therapy as appropriate.
• Approve, sign, and monitor the implementation and efficiency of treatment plans.
• Approve all admissions and discharges into the Behavioral Health Unit, if applicable.
• Provide in-service education to the site staff as needed.
• Attend training and meetings as required.
