NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem's CPEP provides 24/7 emergency psychiatric evaluation and crisis intervention, with a six-bed Extended Observation Unit, to a diverse, underserved community. The multidisciplinary team consists of Psychiatrists, Psychiatric NPs, Social Workers, Nurses, and other behavioral health specialists delivering high-quality care in an academic safety-net setting.

Opportunity Details:

• Full-time, daytime Psychiatrist to join our CPEP team; 8- or 12-hour shifts. Part-time may also beconsidered.
• Evaluate and manage acute psychiatric, behavioral health, and substance use emergencies.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team of Psychiatrists, Psychiatric NPs, Social Workers, Nurses, and other behavioral health professionals.
• Teach and supervise Psychiatry Residents, Medical Students, and other trainees as applicable.
• Respond to consult requests from the Medical ER, Pediatric ER, and Inpatient Medical and Pediatric units, as well asthe Inpatient Psychiatric unit after hours.

Qualifications

• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry.
• Active New York State Medical License.

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $267,900* (board eligible); $278,200* (board certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $438,690** (board eligible) and $450,020** (board certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:

• Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $104,000***.
• Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
• 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
  • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
• Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
• Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
• Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
