Job summary

Boston Medical Center is looking for a Psychiatrist to join their Behavioral Health Team in Brockton, Massachusetts. The role entails providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, collaborative care in various settings, and participation in teaching opportunities.

Position Overview

Psychiatrist – Behavioral Health Boston Medical Center Health System

Position Highlights

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing medication management
  • Deliver psychiatric care in outpatient behavioral health, primary care, and emergency department settings
  • Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications while ensuring safe and effective treatment plans
  • Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, nurses, social workers, and other care team members to coordinate patient care
  • Participate in psychiatric emergency evaluations and crisis intervention services
  • Participate in after‑hours, weekend, and holiday on‑call coverage rotations
  • Supervise and mentor residents and medical students
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within the electronic medical record
  • Support continued growth of referral relationships throughout BMC Health System
Qualifications
  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency program
  • Massachusetts medical license or eligibility for licensure
  • DEA and Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration
  • BLS Certification
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary behavioral health teams preferred
