Monarch Healthcare in North Carolina is seeking a part-time psychiatrist to join the Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) in Winston-Salem and Greensboro. Qualifications

• MD or DO required with board eligibility or board certification in psychiatry.
• Board eligible/certified by ABPN and completed a training program in Psychiatry at an ACGME-accredited sponsoring institution.
• Valid USA driver's license and NC medical license required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe medications for individuals with mental disorders to improve quality of life.
• Provide community-based psychiatric care, traveling to the homes of individuals supported by the program.
• Maintain documentation and use an Electronic Health Records system (EHR).
• Collaborate with other providers and participate in staffing and supervision as required.
• Attend meetings and trainings and maintain all required certifications.

This is a unique and rewarding role providing community-based psychiatric care, traveling directly to the homes of the individuals we support. This is a Part Time role offering 10-24 hours per week. 10 hours per week in Guilford County and 14 hours per week in Forsyth County. We offer flexible scheduling, including the option to work up to 10 hours per day,. This position is 100% onsite with no remote work option. The primary responsibilities of the Assertive Community Treatment Team Psychiatrist are to evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe medications for people we support diagnosed with mental disorders to enhance the quality of life through services that enables them to achieve their personal dreams and goals and be integrated into the community with the greatest possible degree of self-determination and independence.

What You'll Do:

• Assess individuals, served by the Assertive Community Treatment Team, for mental health disorders and make an appropriate DSM diagnosis (es).
• Ensure that services are delivered in a medically appropriate manner and care provided follows with service definitions and best practices.
• Review past treatments, evaluations, and other relevant information in order to develop an appropriate diagnosis and person centered plans and screens referrals in coordination with the other Assertive Community Treatment Team members.
• Prescribe medication when appropriate.
• Request diagnostic lab work when appropriate.
• Maintain all necessary documentation and records which are necessary in the daily work of psychiatry in a timely manner. This may include the use of an Electronic Health Records system (EHR).
• Provide education to individuals to aid in understanding their diagnosis (es) and recommend appropriate treatment.
• Involve/Educate family members and other supports in treatment when appropriate.
• Encourage individuals to participate in mental health therapy when appropriate.
• Collaborate, coordinate and consult with other providers such as counselors, psychologists, social workers and medical staff of other local providers, including but not limited to state hospitals, local hospitals, other community agencies, primary healthcare providers, CCNC, public Health Departments, Federally Qualified Health Clinics in order to discuss treatment plans, progress in services and where appropriate, the medical aspects of the person being supported and the implications for their physical healthcare needs.
• Participate in staffing of complex or high risk individuals with other program staff.
• Provide clinical supervision of all assigned physician assistants and nurse practitioners who will be added to his/her North Carolina medical license as the collaborating physician.
• Attend and actively participate in meetings and training as required.
• Maintain certification in all agency, state and federal training requirements.
• Demonstrate knowledge of and comply with all agency policies and procedures, as well as service definitions related to specific program areas.
• Follow service definition guidelines for services being provided.
• Complete all other relevant responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
• Driving and Travel may be required.
• Meet regularly with the other Assertive Community Treatment Team members to formulate and disseminate information and must be available by telephone.
