Job summary

Resources for Human Development (RHD) is seeking a compassionate Psychiatrist to provide in-person psychiatric services across approximately 8–12 Mental Health Group Homes throughout Delaware.

You will travel between sites, perform evaluations, medication management, and ongoing care coordination with treatment teams, ensuring continuity of quality care for individuals with serious mental illness.

Qualifications

• MD or DO in Psychiatry with Board Certification or residency in psychiatry with prescribing privileges in Delaware.
• Three years of experience with individuals with serious mental illness.
• Three years of outpatient experience with adults with serious mental illness.
• Ability to travel throughout Delaware to provide in-person services across multiple group homes.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person psychiatric services across approximately 8–12 Mental Health Group Homes in Delaware.
• Manage medications, conduct psychiatric evaluations, and monitor treatment.
• Provide emergency psychiatric services as needed.
• Order and review medications and labs; document progress and responses.
• Document sessions and treatment plans in the EHR; maintain required records.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external providers.
• Support licensing, compliance, and RHD values across programs.

What You’ll Do

As a Psychiatrist, you will:

• Provide in-person psychiatric services across approximately 8–12 Mental Health Group Homes throughout the state of Delaware, with regular travel between assigned locations.
• Provide medication management, psychiatric evaluations, medication checks, and ongoing psychiatric care to individuals served.
• Provide emergency psychiatric services in person or by telephone as needed to ensure appropriate care during a crisis or inpatient hospitalization.
• Order and review medications and laboratory tests.
• Complete daily documentation regarding individuals' progress and response to medications.
• Document sessions through progress notes and other required documentation in the EHR.
• Review and update treatment plans, summaries, SSDI evaluations, and other required legal or clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with other members of the multidisciplinary treatment team, agencies, and providers to promote continuity of care.
• Support individuals and programs in maintaining applicable licensing, compliance, best-practice expectations, and RHD values.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

• MD in Psychiatry, another medical degree with Board Certification in Psychiatry, or completion of a residency in psychiatry with prescribing privileges in the state of Delaware.
• At least three years of experience working with individuals with serious mental illness.
• At least three years of experience working in an outpatient setting with adults with serious mental illness.
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide person-centered services.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel throughout Delaware to provide in-person psychiatric services at approximately 8–12 Mental Health Group Homes.
• Valid Driver's License

• Position supports approximately 8–12 Mental Health Group Homes across the state of Delaware
• Regular travel between assigned Delaware group home locations is required.
• Schedule flexibility may be required based on program and individual needs, including potential evenings, weekends, or different locations.

• Ability to reach, bend, stand, stoop, twist, and climb steps.
• Ability to travel between multiple program locations and perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
