Job summary

NaphCare is hiring a Psychiatrist to join our team at the San Diego Central Jail in San Diego, CA. This role focuses on maintaining mental health programs, performing screenings, and delivering patient-centered care within a correctional setting.

The ideal candidate holds an active, unrestricted medical license in the state, leads educational activities, conducts rounds, and collaborates with onsite colleagues to improve outcomes for a diverse inmate population.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted license as a Psychiatrist in the state of employment required.
• Maintain overall clinical responsibility for mental health programs within the facility.
• Oversee the completion of mental health screenings and evaluations.
• Perform sick calls and chronic care visits.

Responsibilities

• Conduct rounds in all units.
• Formulate a working diagnosis, develop and implement a treatment plan, and evaluate/modify therapeutic regimens to promote positive patient outcomes.
• Coordinate, lead and participate in educational training activities related to mental health care.
