Job summary

Connecticut Valley Hospital in Middletown, CT, joins River Valley Services in Middletown, CT, and Whiting Forensic in Middletown, CT to hire an Adult Inpatient Psychiatrist for our inpatient units.

Role offers a 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday, with no nights, weekends, or on-call. Initially a 4–6 month opportunity with possible extension. Patient load is based on professional judgment and team support is available.

Qualifications

• Twelve continuous months of experience in the last three years performing services similar in scope to those defined herein in a public or private institution.
• Possess and maintain a current and valid license issued by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology to practice Adult Psychiatry in the State of Connecticut including adherence to all laws and regulations governing the practice of Psychiatry in Connecticut.

• Psychiatrists provide care to an adult population in the inpatient unit.
• Psychiatrists are supported by a complete team including e.g. an Intake Department, Nurses, Therapists, LCSWs, Case Managers, etc.
• This is the Lead Mental Health Authority the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services for 18 towns.

About the Role

• Adult Inpatient Psychiatrist
• Schedule: Full-time, Monday thru Friday, 40 hours per week.
• No nights, weekends, or on-call. This is initially approximately a 4-6 month’s opportunity but may offer extension option. No set number of patients per day. Number of patients per day is based on sound professional judgement.
