Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates at the North Central Correctional Complex in Marion, Ohio, where the focus is on providing comprehensive mental health services for inmates. The role leads planning, coordination, and management of the facility's mental health program to support inmate wellness and successful rehabilitation.

Essential duties include evaluating referrals, coordinating resources, staff training, and ensuring confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in psychiatry preferred.
• MD specialty in psychiatry required.
• Board certified in psychiatry.
• A valid Ohio driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and manage the mental health program and services of the facility.
• Accept referrals for inmate evaluations; make necessary judgments and recommendations.
• Coordinate mental health referrals to other resources when deemed appropriate.
• Develop and conduct preventative mental health program including inmate training, counseling, recreation activities, discipline, orientation and other support services.
• Provide staff training, both group and individual, in-staff counseling techniques.
• Prepare and conduct special training programs for staff as scheduled.
• Maintain and monitor confidentiality of inmates and their files; observe HIPAA rules.
• Promote development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.

Qualifications

• Must have a license or certification as required by the state of Ohio.
• Board certified in psychiatry.
• A valid driver’s license in the state of Ohio with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
• Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements.
