The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is seeking qualified candidates for a Psychiatrist at West Central Georgia Regional Hospital in Columbus, GA.
Candidates should be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry with a career interest or experience in public hospital psychiatry. This psychiatrist will enjoy a very supportive setting with collegial relationships with a large psychiatric/medical staff. In conjunction with a comprehensive treatment team, the psychiatrist addresses the clinical/psychiatric needs of adult individuals (civil and forensic) after assessment and diagnosis. Comprehensive care plans are prepared addressing treatment including behavioral support and psychopharmacology. Support is provided by the rest of the team, which consists of a medical provider, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and others.
Psychiatrist - $224,400
Board Certified Psychiatrist - $260,400
Forensic Board Certified Psychiatrist - $272,400
Graduation from a medical school recognized by the composite State board of medical examiners. Licensure or license eligibility to practice medicine at a state institution or in the State of Georgia as provided by State law is required. The candidate must also have completed an accredited psychiatry residency program and be board eligible in psychiatry.
Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the qualifications listed above, possess the following: certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, experience in treating persons with serious and persistent mental illness, and in providing care as a leader and member of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
