Job summary

Albertina Kerr is seeking a Psychiatric Technician (QMHA-registered or eligible) to provide direct care for children and adolescents in crisis, in person at our Portland location. You will facilitate skills groups, guide recreational activities, and support daily activities within a multidisciplinary team.

Our model emphasizes Collaborative Problem Solving to help kids do well when they can. The role focuses on stabilizing mental health crises, conducting assessments, and implementing care plans

Qualifications

• QMHA registration or eligibility required.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant area or 3+ years of behavioral health experience.
• Demonstrated experience with clients and families in a behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities

• Conducts evaluations and assessments of clients.
• Ensures clients' safety and provides basic needs during care.
• Implements treatment plans and supports developmental needs.
• Teaches social skills and facilitates socialization.
• Leads educational and therapeutic groups for clients.

Kerr utilizes Collaborative Problem Solving in helping children with behavioral challenges. This strength-based model fosters the understanding that kids do well if they can.Our Children's Psychiatric Crisis (Subacute) program offers short-time, safe, and secure residential placement for children and teens who are experiencing a mental health crisis. Services focus on mental health stabilization, psychiatric evaluation, and transitional planning with an average length of stay around three weeks. Common diagnoses include major depression, suicide ideation, and anxiety.
