Job summary

Danville-Pittsylvania Community Services is seeking an RN to conduct psychiatric assessments and manage medical needs in collaboration with a psychiatrist or nurse practitioner. The role includes medication administration, education, and a broad range of treatment and support services for individuals with serious mental illness.

Responsibilities include outreach, case management, documentation, and on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Valid RN license to practice in Virginia.
• At least one year experience in the past five years with individuals diagnosed with serious mental illness.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric assessments.
• Assess physical health needs and make referrals to community physicians.
• Manage medications in conjunction with the psychiatrist/nurse practitioner.
• Provide a wide range of treatment, rehabilitation, and support services.
• Share shift-management responsibilities with other staff.
• Provide direct case management services to individuals.
• Administer medication education and documentation.
• Assist with weekly medication bag/box fills.
• Deliver medications to individuals' homes on a rotating schedule.
• Participate in on-call rotation.
