Job summary

Brightside Health seeks an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) for flexible telehealth across multiple states. This 1099 contract role supports autonomous outpatient care with psychiatrist oversight and a modern, AI-enhanced EMR.

You will provide video and asynchronous care, maintain licensure, and collaborate with a nationwide team. A PMHNP license and 2+ years of autonomous outpatient experience are required.

Qualifications

• Active and clear APRN license.
• Licensed Nurse Practitioner with PMHNP certification.
• At least 2 years of autonomous PMHNP experience.
• Outpatient setting experience.
• Telehealth experience and comfort with technology.
• Licensed in 4+ states (multistate licensure preferred).
• DEA registration (multi-state a plus).
• 8+ hours of availability per week.
• Experience with adolescents preferred.
• Medicare/Medicaid participation.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care via telemedicine (video and asynchronous messaging).
• Prescribe and dispense within applicable state/federal laws.
• Maintain licensure and stay compliant with regulations.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and Brightside leadership.
• Timely charting within 48 hours of sessions.
• Respond to patient messages within 72 hours.

Using machine learning and real-time data from patient monitoring, we are building a highly effective clinical decision support tool for prescribing.

Responsibilities:

Maintain all appropriate licensure to prescribe and dispense medications under applicable state and federal laws

Have excellent grammar, attention to detail, and proficient at writing medical information at a patient level

Must be technology savvy and excited about how technology can improve medical care

Be pleasant, responsive, and willing to collaborate with our team

Provide direct patient care via telemedicine (remote); including synchronous video consultations and asynchronous messaging

Consistently responsive to clinical leadership team and highly reliable to our members

Evaluate patient records, make prescribing decisions, and provide medication-related counseling as needed in a timely manner

Successful completion of charting within 48 hours of session

Support a 72‑hour messaging response window for patients

Requirements:

Active and clear APRN license

Licensed Nurse Practitioner - Certified in Psychiatric & Mental Health (PMHNP Required)

At least 2 years of autonomous experience practicing as a PMHNP, post‑graduate

Previous experience working in an outpatient setting

Telehealth experience and a high comfort level of working with technology

Must be licensed in 4+ states (the more the merrier)

Multi‑state DEAs is a plus, and at least 1 DEA is strongly preferred

8+ hours of availability per week

Experience working with adolescents is strongly preferred
