Job summary

BioTalent is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join its Texas-based clinical research team. The position is onsite in DeSoto, TX with a planned move to Irving, TX in 2027.

Salary ranges from $100,000 to $140,000 and will be commensurate with experience. Candidate must have an active NP or PA license and clinical research experience, with preference for PMHNP-BC/ANCC or NCCPA certification.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted NP or PA license.
• Board certification in PMHNP-BC/ANCC or NCCPA preferred.
• Clinical experience in psychiatry or neurology strongly preferred.
• Previous clinical research experience required.
• Comfortable performing physical and neurological examinations and reviewing labs/ECGs.
• Experience with structured clinical interviews or psychiatric rating scales is a plus.
• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
• Must be able to work onsite in DeSoto, TX initially and transition to Irving, TX in 2027.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structured clinical interviews, diagnostic assessments, and neuropsychological assessments for psychiatry/neurology trials.
• Assess symptoms and clinical change across depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, ADHD, SUD, and Alzheimer’s disease.
• Perform protocol-required physical and neurological examinations under PI/Sub-I supervision.
• Review laboratory results and ECGs; elevate significant findings.
• Assess and document adverse events and relatedness evaluations.
• Review concomitant medications for eligibility and protocol compliance.
• Collaborate with investigators and the research team to ensure patient safety and data quality.
• Maintain compliance with Good Clinical Practice and applicable regulations.

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

The Opportunity

A leading clinical research organization is seeking a highly motivated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join its Texas-based clinical research team.

This position will initially be based onsite in DeSoto, TX. In 2027, the role will transition to a new facility in Irving, TX, and the selected candidate must be able to work onsite in Irving once the new location opens.

This position offers the opportunity to work on innovative psychiatric and neurological clinical trials and contribute directly to the development of new treatments.

The role combines clinical rating and patient assessment with trial-related medical responsibilities, working under the supervision of the study Principal Investigator (PI) and/or Sub-Investigator (Sub-I).

Candidates with experience in psychiatry, neurology, Alzheimer’s disease, or clinical research are strongly encouraged to apply. Previous clinical research experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct structured clinical interviews, diagnostic assessments, neuropsychological assessments, and standardized rating scales for psychiatry and neurology trials.
• Assess symptoms and clinical change across indications such as depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, ADHD, substance use disorders, and Alzheimer’s disease.
• Perform protocol-required physical and neurological examinations under PI/Sub-I supervision.
• Review laboratory results and ECGs and elevate clinically significant findings.
• Assess and document adverse events (AEs) and support relatedness evaluations.
• Review and document concomitant medications for eligibility and protocol compliance.
• Collaborate closely with investigators and the multidisciplinary research team to support participant safety, data quality, and successful study execution.
• Maintain compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and applicable regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted state license as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
• Board certification such as PMHNP-BC/ANCC or NCCPA preferred.
• Clinical experience in psychiatry, neurology, or a related field strongly preferred.
• Previous clinical research experience is required.
