Job summary

Behavioral Health Solutions, Inc. in Reno, NV seeks a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to lead neurofeedback-based psychiatric care in SNF and long-term care settings in the Reno/Sparks area.

This full-time, in-person role offers base salary plus incentive opportunities with total earnings potential of $185,000+ annually. The ideal candidate holds an active PMHNP license, a Master’s/ Doctorate in Nursing, and proven experience in psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and medication

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted PMHNP license in the state of practice.
• Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Experience providing psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and medication management.
• Strong clinical documentation skills and comfort with electronic health record systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct neurofeedback training sessions using approved equipment, protocols, and evidence-based practices.
• Assess patient readiness, tolerance, and response to neurofeedback interventions and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
• Perform neurotherapy sessions and cognitive rehabilitation treatment according to patient need.
• Interpret neurofeedback session data and patient progress to inform treatment decisions.
• Provide patient education on neurofeedback methodology, expectations, and care plans.
• Partner with therapists, psychiatrists, and care teams to support integrated treatment planning.
• Communicate progress updates, clinical concerns, and treatment recommendations to the care team and leadership as appropriate.
• Complete all documentation timely and accurately, including session notes, treatment plans, progress summaries, and required reports.
• Adhere to all regulatory, ethical, and organizational policies, including HIPAA, state practice regulations, and BHS standards of care.
• Support the refinement and growth of the neurotherapy program, including identifying opportunities for process improvement and protocol enhancement.
• Participate in training, continuing education, and quality initiatives related to neurofeedback and psychiatric care.

About The Position

We are seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with a strong clinical foundation and an interest in advancing innovative, evidence-based interventions to join our expanding program. This position requires in-person rounding within skilled nursing facility (SNF) and long-term care (LTC) settings in the Reno and Sparks area.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care & Neurofeedback Delivery

• Conduct neurofeedback training sessions using approved equipment, protocols, and evidence-based practices.


• Assess patient readiness, tolerance, and response to neurofeedback interventions and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate.


• Perform neurotherapy sessions and cognitive rehabilitation treatment according to patient need.


• Interpret neurofeedback session data and patient progress to inform treatment decisions.


• Provide patient education on neurofeedback methodology, expectations, and care plans.

Collaboration & Coordination

• Partner with therapists, psychiatrists, and care teams to support integrated treatment planning.


• Communicate progress updates, clinical concerns, and treatment recommendations to the care team and leadership as appropriate.


• Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and program development initiatives.

Documentation & Compliance

• Complete all documentation timely and accurately, including session notes, treatment plans, progress summaries, and required reports.


• Adhere to all regulatory, ethical, and organizational policies, including HIPAA, state practice regulations, and BHS standards of care.


• Ensure equipment usage, safety protocols, and environmental standards meet program and regulatory requirements.

Program Development & Quality

• Support the refinement and growth of the neurotherapy program, including identifying opportunities for process improvement and protocol enhancement.


• Participate in training, continuing education, and quality initiatives related to neurofeedback and psychiatric care.

• Experience providing psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and medication management.


• Strong clinical documentation skills and comfort with electronic health record systems.


• Ability to work independently while maintaining collaborative relationships with care teams.

Preferred

• Prior training or experience with neurofeedback, biofeedback, or related modalities.


• Experience working in behavioral health, long-term care, outpatient clinics, or neurocognitive treatment programs.


• Familiarity with QEEG, brain mapping, or functional neurotherapeutic interventions.
