Qualifications

• Valid Nurse Practitioner license with Psychiatric certification is required.
• Experience in substance abuse treatment is preferred.
• CPR certification must be current.
• At least 2 years of relevant clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial evaluations for all new patients within 24 hours.
• Perform psychiatric evaluations and prescribe medications.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to address patient needs.
• Educate patients regarding medical issues and detoxification processes.
• Provide emotional support to patients throughout their treatment.

Skills

Job Summary

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing general care primarily for patients admitted to the facility. This position performs physical examinations and works closely with the Medical Director to develop the correct health care plans and goals for current patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform History and Physical for all patients within 24 hours of admission
• Perform Psychiatric evaluations
• Order and interpret lab tests
• Prescribe non‑controlled medications and controlled substances
• Provide education related to medical issues and detoxification
• Provide compassionate support through all process phases
• Work with the multidisciplinary team to discuss, assess and resolve patient problems

Qualifications

• Active and clean Nurse Practitioner license with Psychiatric certification
• Substance abuse experience preferred but not required
• CPR certification
• Minimum 2 years’ experience

Schedule

• Provides coverage for two locations: Toms River and Freehold
• Full time – Monday to Friday

Compensation

• Hourly rate competitive with experience and location
