Job description

UltaCare Medical has an immediate opening for a part‑time Geri‑psych Nurse Practitioner. Under the supervision of a supervising psychiatrist, the Psych NP will assess, diagnose, and manage mental health and psychiatric conditions in nursing home residents, focusing on optimizing treatment, reducing side‑effects, and improving quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Review psychotropic medications in accordance with CMS guidelines.
• Make medication recommendations to the medical staff onsite and follow up for medication effectiveness.
• Offer guidance and instruction related to psychiatric illnesses to staff at designated facility.
• Meet monthly with the supervising psychiatrist to review charts and receive education/guidance.
• Maintain open communication with patients, families, responsible parties, facility staff, and attending physicians.
• Maintain a customer‑oriented approach to meeting patient needs, involving others in the plan of care as appropriate.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest level of professionalism.
• Communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMHNP certification.
• 2 years’ experience working in a psych‑focused FNP role.
