Job summary

ACCESS Family Care in Joplin, Missouri seeks a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to join an integrated behavioral health team. You will assess, diagnose, and treat patients with behavioral health needs while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care.

As a PMHNP, you will develop individualized treatment plans, prescribe medications, educate patients and families, document in the EHR, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Current Missouri APRN license or eligibility for Missouri licensure.
• Board Certification as PMHNP-BC.
• DEA registration or eligibility to obtain.
• Strong psychiatric assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic mental health conditions.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.
• Prescribe, adjust, and monitor psychiatric medications.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses and medication management.
• Collaborate with primary care providers, therapists, case managers, and support staff.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation within the electronic health record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient outcome programs.
• Provide crisis intervention and referral services when appropriate.
