Job summary

WhiteCap Workforce Solutions seeks a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide comprehensive behavioral health services to pediatric and adult patients in outpatient and inpatient settings, collaborating with psychiatrists and interdisciplinary teams.

The PMHNP will assess, diagnose, and treat mental health conditions, prescribe psychotropic meds, order tests, educate patients, and ensure continuity of care while maintaining HIPAA-compliant documentation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage mental health conditions for children, adolescents, and adults.
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications as appropriate.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory studies.
• Provide ongoing outpatient and inpatient psychiatric care in collaboration with behavioral health and medical teams.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and community resources.
• Address urgent behavioral health concerns and ensure continuity of care across treatment settings.
• Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant medical documentation in accordance with organizational, billing, and HIPAA standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice efforts.
• Serve as a clinical resource for staff and interdisciplinary teams.
• Collaborate effectively with two remote psychiatrists as part of a coordinated behavioral health model.

Position Summary

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) provides comprehensive behavioral health services to pediatric and adult patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Working collaboratively with psychiatrists, primary care providers, and interdisciplinary care teams, the PMHNP assesses, diagnoses, and treats mental health conditions while promoting whole-person care and positive clinical outcomes.

Work Schedule

Full-Time, On-Site Position (40 Hours per Week)

• 32 hours weekly dedicated to direct patient care
• 8 hours weekly allocated for administrative responsibilities
• Monday to Friday
• Administrative time must be scheduled outside of patient appointments and coordinated with leadership to ensure appropriate provider coverage
• Administrative schedules are established in partnership with the Medical Director and Practice Manager
