Job summary

MercyOne Waterloo/Cedar Falls Behavioral Health Care in Waterloo, Iowa seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA-C) with Psychiatric Mental Health certification to join our established, multidisciplinary team. This clinic-based role includes inpatient unit coverage and a shared call schedule.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule with call, and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, retirement, CME allowance, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Current Iowa license for NP or PA-C.
• Psychiatric Mental Health certification is required.
• Experience in behavioral health or psychiatry is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and manage treatment plans for patients with mental health conditions.
• Prescribe medications and monitor therapeutic responses.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other health professionals to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide patient education and support for families.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
