Job summary

Indian Health Service in the United States seeks a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations across the lifespan, diagnose disorders using DSM criteria, and develop individualized treatment plans within federal clinical guidelines.

You will prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, coordinate care, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams while adhering to safety, documentation, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• APN with psychiatric specialization and license to practice in the U.S.
• Experience performing psychiatric assessments, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Ability to prescribe and manage psychotropic medications within clinical guidelines.
• Strong documentation and ability to coordinate care with teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations across the lifespan.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications; monitor response and safety.
• Assess emergencies and coordinate appropriate level of care.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans; include psychotherapy when within scope.
• Provide psychiatric consultation to physicians and teams.
