We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide fully remote psychiatric services. This is a 1099 independent contractor position ideal for a provider who holds multiple state licenses and is comfortable delivering telepsychiatry services, completing documentation, and collaborating with a remote clinical team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management through telehealth
- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with mental health conditions
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications according to state regulations
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Provide patient education regarding diagnosis, medications, side effects, and treatment goals
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Collaborate with therapists, care coordinators, and other providers when needed
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, telehealth, and state licensing requirements
- Follow ethical and professional standards for psychiatric practice
Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted PMHNP certification
- Active nurse practitioner license in one or more states
- Multiple active state licenses strongly preferred
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing
- Experience in psychiatry, behavioral health, or mental health medication management
- DEA license preferred or required depending on prescribing responsibilities
- Comfortable working with telehealth platforms and electronic medical records
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently as a 1099 contractor
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensed in high-demand states such as CA, FL, TX, WA, AZ, OR, NY, NJ, PA, IL, GA, NC, or MD
- Experience treating adults, adolescents, or diverse populations
- Experience with anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, insomnia, and mood disorders
- Telepsychiatry experience preferred
- Bilingual candidates are a plus
Work Schedule
This is a fully remote, flexible contractor position. Providers may set their availability based on patient demand and organizational scheduling needs.

- Must maintain active professional licenses in all states where services are provided
- Must follow each state’s telehealth and prescribing regulations
- Must maintain malpractice/professional liability insurance if required
- Must complete documentation within required timelines
- Must have reliable internet and a private, HIPAA-compliant workspace
