Position Summary

Agape Family Health is seeking an experienced, compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our behavioral health team in Jacksonville, FL. This part-time position offers the opportunity to grow into a full-time role as our patient panel expands. The PMHNP will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, and ongoing treatment for patients presenting with a wide range of mental health conditions. Given the complexity and acuity of our patient population, this role requires a clinician with a minimum of three years of post-graduate psychiatric practice experience; new graduates will not be considered for this position at this time.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and risk assessments for adult and/or adolescent patients
• Diagnose and manage a broad range of psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, trauma-related conditions, and substance use disorders
• Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans, including psychopharmacological management
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring for efficacy, side effects, and drug interactions
• Perform ongoing medication management visits and titrate treatment based on clinical response
• Assess and manage patients presenting with complex, comorbid, or high-acuity psychiatric presentations
• Conduct suicide/self-harm risk assessments and implement appropriate safety planning and crisis interventions
• Coordinate care with therapists, case managers, primary care providers, and community resources as needed
• Order and interpret relevant laboratory work and diagnostic studies related to psychiatric care
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, medication management, and expected outcomes
• Provide guidance on coping strategies, lifestyle modifications, and relapse prevention
• Foster a therapeutic, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive environment for all patients
• Collaborate with the Medical Director, supervising physicians, and multidisciplinary care team to ensure coordinated, whole-person care
• Participate in case consultations, treatment team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives
• Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, and referring providers

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, DEA, state psychiatric practice regulations, and clinic policies
• Maintain appropriate documentation to support billing, quality reporting, and regulatory audits

Qualifications

Education & Licensure

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) specialization from an accredited program
• Current, unrestricted license to practice as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) in the State of Florida
• Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) through ANCC required
• Active DEA registration, or eligibility to obtain one, required
• Current BLS/CPR certification required

Experience

• Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience practicing as a psychiatric nurse practitioner required; candidates with less experience or new graduates will not be considered given the complexity and acuity of our patient population
• Demonstrated experience independently managing psychiatric medications across a broad range of diagnoses
• Experience working with underserved, diverse, or high-acuity patient populations strongly preferred
• Experience with telepsychiatry/telehealth platforms a plus
• Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills for complex psychiatric presentations
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and de-escalation skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Commitment to providing culturally competent, trauma-informed, patient-centered care

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the clinic for extended periods
• Manual dexterity for use of computer systems and standard office/medical equipment

Schedule & Compensation

• Part-time position; hours and schedule to be discussed based on clinic and candidate needs
• Strong potential for transition to a full-time role as the behavioral health program grows
• Compensation: $55.00–$60.00 per hour, commensurate with experience
