The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia is seeking an autonomous Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) for UVA Stuarts Draft Family Practice in Virginia. The role focuses on outpatient behavioral health within a collaborative primary care setting.

The position features a four-day workweek (4 x 10-hour shifts), no inpatient duties, and a salary structure with base pay plus incentives, along with UVA Physicians Group benefits.

Formación

• Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Board certification as a PMHNP.
• Current or eligible Virginia NP and RN licensure.
• DEA registration and prescriptive authority eligibility.
• Minimum of 3 years of psychiatric practice preferred.
• Ability to practice independently with an outpatient psychiatric panel.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for adolescents and adults.

• Develop individualized treatment plans using medication management and psychotherapy.
• Prescribe, adjust, and monitor psychotropic medications per Virginia regulations.
• Provide follow-up care, monitoring, and medication education.
• Collaborate with primary care providers to support integrated care.

UVA Stuarts Draft Family Practice is seeking an experienced, autonomous Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide outpatient behavioral health services within a collaborative primary care setting. This full-time position offers a four-day workweek (4 x 10-hour shifts) with no inpatient responsibilities.

Position Highlights

• Full-time, outpatient-only practice
• Four 10-hour days, Monday-Friday
• No hospital call or inpatient coverage
• Integrated behavioral health model within a primary care practice
• Collaborative support from primary care providers, nursing, and care management teams

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for adolescents and adults.
• Diagnose and treat a broad range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and other psychiatric disorders.
• Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based medication management and therapeutic interventions.
• Prescribe, adjust, and monitor psychotropic medications in accordance with Virginia regulations and clinical best practices.
• Provide ongoing follow-up care, including symptom management, treatment monitoring, and medication education.
• Collaborate closely with primary care providers to support integrated patient care and address behavioral health needs within the primary care setting.
• Coordinate referrals to specialty behavioral health services, counseling, substance use treatment, and community resources as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a patient-centered, team-based care environment.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
• Current or eligible Virginia Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse licensure.
• DEA registration and prescriptive authority eligibility.
• Minimum of 3 years of psychiatric practice experience preferred.
• Ability to practice independently and manage a diverse outpatient psychiatric patient panel.

COMPENSATION

• During the first two years of employment, the provider will receive a tiered base salary plus a $10,000 guaranteed incentive.
• Following the completion of the two-year guarantee period, compensation will transition to a tiered base salary plus a wRVU-based incentive model.

Base salary is determined by years of APP experience:

• 0-5 years of experience: $105,000 base salary
• More than 5 years up to 10 years of experience: $115,000 base salary
• More than 10 years of experience: $125,000 base salary

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
