Job summary

Alabama Clinical Schools Inc. is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) for PRN shifts in the Birmingham, Alabama area.

The role directs physical patient management, collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, and monitors patient behavior for therapeutic intervention. Responsibilities include guiding nursing staff, communicating changes to the team, and assisting with staffing and overtime management under the direction of the Registered Nurse.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
• One year psychiatric experience preferred, but not required.
• Current status as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Alabama.
• Current CPR Certification required.
• Must have a successful background, drug screening, and ABI/FBI fingerprints.

Responsibilities

• Direct physical management of patients and collaborate with other disciplines.
• Observe patient behavior and intervene therapeutically as needed; guide non-professional staff.
• Communicate changes to appropriate staff and record updates.
• Assist with staffing process for nursing issues and review staffing schedules.
• Inform managers of overtime concerns and assist with changes as directed by the RN.
