Job summary

Brightwell is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide nursing care under supervision of an RN. The LPN ensures care adheres to standards and supports a safe, therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities include administering medications, patient education, documentation, crisis de-escalation, and collaboration with the healthcare team to meet patient needs in adult programs. Requires MI license and at least two years of nursing experience; psychiatric nursing preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse in Michigan.
• Two years nursing experience; one additional year in psychiatric nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists under supervision of RN or Nurse Manager.
• Administers medications and monitors for side effects.
• Provides patient education on medications and health maintenance.
• Identifies medical issues and reports to supervising Nurse.
• Assists with admissions, discharges, and transfers and completes documentation.
• Maintains infection control education and general health maintenance.
• Uses de-escalation techniques to manage aggression and intervenes in crises.
• Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory training.
• Maintains BLS/CPR and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certifications.
