Job summary

State of Ohio seeks a Psychiatric/DD Nurse for the Columbus Developmental Center, responsible for direct nursing care, medication management and coordination with physicians. You will work on the 1st shift on a full-time basis, with a 15% recruitment supplement and a 10% shift supplement.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will ensure accurate documentation, physician orders, and adherence to health care standards, while providing guidance to families and staff.

Qualifications

• Requires current license as a registered professional nurse in Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Assumes primary nursing responsibility for assigned residents and plans nursing care.
• Communicates medical information to parents/guardians as appropriate.
• Fills in for psychiatric meetings and coordinates with physicians.
• Processing physician orders and entering into computerized records.
• Schedule and follow up on resident health needs and exams.
• Provide health teaching and direction to family, staff and clients.
