Job summary

Qualifications

Degree in social services, psychology or related field required.
Minimal 5–7 years experience with mentally ill and/or addictions.
Louisiana Nursing License or multi-state compact nursing license; Crisis Response Training, CPR.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and medical staff; emotional stability.

Responsibilities

Supervises day-to-day functions of the department and staff.
Prepares information for notification letters for providers and employees.
Performs utilization review in accordance with state regulations.
Maintains compliance with regulation changes affecting utilization management.
Reviews patient records and evaluates patient progress; conducts reviews of treatment plans.
Receives and processes requests for appeals of denials; attends related meetings.
