Job summary

Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking a Psychiatric Technician II for the inpatient unit. The role assists with direct patient care, transports patients, answers phones, and helps maintain a safe, clean environment under nursing staff supervision.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, prior mental health experience, BLS certification, and CNA credentials if available. Evening shift with 7.5-hour days and a 3:30 PM–11:30 PM schedule.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

As an integral part of the team, the Psychiatric Technician II is responsible for activities, which promote patient focused care within the Inpatient Psychiatric unit.Essential Functions· The Psychiatric Technician II provides direct patient care in accordance with the goals and objectives Nursing Services under the guidance of the Registered Professional Nurse.· The Psychiatric Technician II provides indirect patient care in accordance with the goals and objectives of Nursing Services under the direction of the Registered Professional Nurse.· The Psychiatric Technician II demonstrates expected conduct, behavior and accountability.· The Psychiatric Technician II supports the vision, mission, values and balanced scorecard performance measures for MMOV Nursing Services and participates in achieving the objectives and balanced scorecard performance measures at the unit level.Education and Requirements:· High School Diploma or equivalent.· Prior experience in mental health· CNA certification a plus· BLS Certification required· Ability to stand for extended periods of timeMontefiore Mount Vernon Hospital is an equal employment opportunity employer.
