Job summary

Havenwyck Hospital in Auburn Hills, MI, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide psychiatric care across child, adolescent, and adult patients. The role emphasizes nursing process, safety, milieu management, and crisis intervention.

The position is a TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT up to 6 months with 3-12 hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, and every other weekend. New rates: $55/hr or $60/hr depending on option.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing; RN licensure in Michigan; 1 year nursing experience in psychiatry preferred; Non-violent Crisis Intervention certification preferred; BLS/CPR certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for psychiatric patients using the nursing process.
• Assess mental health needs, develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plans and evaluate nursing care.
• Monitor the effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician; ensure safety and milieu management.
• Participate in development and implementation of department policies and the Master Treatment Plan updates.

Education

Bachelor's degree in nursing (preferred)

Current RN license in Michigan

Psychiatric nursing experience (1 year preferred)

Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care for psychiatric patients, including child, adolescent and chemical dependency patients using the nursing process. This position also assesses mental health needs, develops nursing diagnoses, identifies outcomes, plans and evaluatse nursing care. In addition, this position monitors the effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician, and ensures the safety and provides milieu management and crisis intervention strategies.

HOURS/SCHEDULE: This is a TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT (Option 1) not to exceed 6 months. Must work 3 - 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00AM-7:30PM and every other weekend.

NEW RATES:

Option 1: $55 per hour or

Option 2: $60 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care for psychiatric patients, including child, adolescent and chemical dependency patients using the nursing process. • Participates in the development, interpretation and implementation of the department's philosophy, objectives, standards, policies and procedures.
• Utilizes the nursing process in planning, providing and evaluating each patient's care, and produces a written nursing assessment and up-to-date individualized care plan.
• Develops measurable goals on the Individualized Treatment Plan that are mutually set with the treatment team and patient.
• Modifies nursing component of the Master Treatment Plan as required by changing patient needs, as determined by evaluation of care administered and established standards of care. Keeps treatment plan updated; reviews the plan with patients.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing required. Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Current and valid status as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Michigan required.
• One year of nursing experience in a psychiatric setting preferred.
• Current certification in Non-violent Crisis Intervention preferred.
• Current certification in BLS/CPR preferred.
• Employees must be in good standing (employment/corrective action history, evaluation, etc.) to be considered for internal transfers.
