Job summary

DeKalb CSB is seeking a Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) Specialist to support a recovery-oriented program for individuals with persistent mental illness. Under supervision, you will run psycho-educational groups, coordinate care, and promote socialization, wellness, and self-advocacy.

The role includes caseload management, group and individual skills training, and collaboration with clinicians. Occasional weekend or adjusted hours may occur, with required trainings and transportation for

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or Peer Specialist Certification.
Experience working with individuals diagnosed with severe, persistent mental illness.
Proficient computer skills to use electronic medical records; ability to engage individuals in treatment and self-advocacy.

Responsibilities

Exemplifies recovery and person-centered care.
Prepares and provides recovery-oriented psycho-educational groups.
Manages caseload and provides care coordination, group and individual skills training, and referrals.
Evaluates progress and develops individual recovery plans; completes PSR readiness assessments.
Educates and advocates with family and other caregivers to support recovery.
Documents all contact in daily progress notes within required timeframes.
Works with clinicians, admin staff, and care providers; transports participants for community outings.
Completes agency trainings including defensive driving.
