About the Role

American Stone is hiring a full‑time Yardhand Foreman to help manage daily yard operations, super‑vise yard employees, maintain organization throughout the yard, and support customers, deliveries, and inventory movement.

This position is responsible for helping lead the yard crew while also actively working alongside the team. The Yardhand Foreman helps oversee yard maintenance, loading and unloading trucks, product replenishment, order pulling, equipment coordination, and overall yard organization in a fast‑paced environment.

Pay

Starting around $20/hour depending on experience.

We are looking for someone dependable, organized, self‑motivated, and comfortable leading others while maintaining a safe, productive, and customer‑friendly work environment. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors, operating equipment, communicating with managers and team members, and helping keep operations running smoothly.

This is a primarily on‑site position based in Salt Lake City, UT. Candidates must currently be located in Utah and available to work in‑person as needed. American Stone does not provide relocation assistance for this role.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the yard crew and daily yard operations
• Help maintain organization, cleanliness, and safety throughout the yard
• Coordinate product replenishment and communicate restocking needs to management
• Pull customer and delivery orders accurately and efficiently
• Ensure delivery orders are completed and ready on time
• Help load and unload customer vehicles and delivery trucks
• Operate forklifts, loaders, excavators, and other yard equipment
• Communicate with General Managers regarding inventory, yard needs, and operational issues
• Assist customers in locating products and loading materials
• Provide strong customer service throughout the yard environment
• Help oversee truck loading and unloading operations
• Monitor equipment condition and communicate maintenance needs
• Support general yard maintenance, cleanup, and organization
• Assist with inventory movement and material handling
• Help train and support yard employees as needed
• Help maintain workflow efficiency throughout daily operations

Qualifications

Required

• Prior experience working in a yard, warehouse, construction, landscaping, masonry, production, or similar outdoor environment
• Leadership experience or experience helping supervise a crew/team
• Ability to safely operate forklifts or heavy equipment, or willingness to learn
• Ability to lift, bend, twist, stand for extended periods, and work outdoors in different weather conditions
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Dependable and self‑motivated work ethic
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn systems for orders and inventory

Preferred

• Experience operating forklifts, loaders, excavators, or similar equipment
• Experience creating purchase orders (POs) or handling inventory/order coordination
• Spanish is a plus
• Experience in stone, landscaping, masonry, construction, or outdoor material environments

Schedule

Monday to Friday. 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Full time. Schedule may vary depending on workload, deliveries, weather, and operational needs
