Job summary

Labcorp, a global leader in diagnostic testing and drug development, seeks a Phlebotomy Site Coordinator for our Birmingham, AL team. The role oversees PSC activities, coordinates staff, and ensures timely phlebotomy and specimen processing across sites.

You will work closely with PSC and laboratory teams to maintain high-quality patient service and operations. The position emphasizes phlebotomy proficiency, leadership capabilities, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of experience as a phlebotomist.
• 1+ years of experience in a people leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report performance, compliance or staffing issues to supervisors.
• Manage and monitor patient flow, wait times, inventory levels and information logs.
• Monitor monthly productivity reports and report any deviations as necessary.
• Address customer service-related issues promptly and respectfully.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.

LabCorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Site Coordinator to join our team in Birmingham AL

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm with a 1-hour lunch, additional days and hours may be required

Job Responsibilities

• Observe and report any performance, compliance or staffing related issues to supervisors
• Manage and monitor patient flow, wait times, inventory levels and information logs
• Monitor monthly productivity reports and report any deviations as necessary
• Address any customer service-related issues in a prompt and respectful manner
• Promote teamwork, cohesiveness and effective communication among coworkers
• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when necessary
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• 2 year or more experience as a phlebotomist
• 1 years or more experience in as a people leader

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years or more experience in as a people leader
• 3 year or more experience as a phlebotomist

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• In depth knowledge of phlebotomy duties, responsibilities and techniques
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

This position will be responsible for the coordination and oversight of activities of Patient Service Centers within an assigned area. The Phlebotomy Site Coordinator will work closely with the PSC staff, management, as well as the laboratory staff and clients to ensure optimal operation of the Patient Service Center. The position will also perform phlebotomy and specimen processing procedures at LabCorp Patient Service Centers under minimal supervision.

Phlebotomist’s may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
