Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform blood collections for patients of all ages and to ensure accurate data entry and specimen handling. Travel to additional sites may be required.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and phlebotomy certification or equivalent training or experience. Strong customer service and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist.
  • In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency.

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
  • Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
  • Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
  • Provide superior customer service to all patients.
  • Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
  • Travel to additional sites when needed.

Work Schedule

Mondays and Fridays 7:30am‑4:30pm with a 1‑hour lunch Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 8:00am‑1:00pm and rotating Saturdays

Job Responsibilities

  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Reliable transportation
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

  • Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan
  • Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO

Phlebotomist may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
