Job summary

Cascade Process Controls in Odessa, Texas, is seeking an experienced PRV Valve Technician to work with the Valve Operations Coordinator in testing, inspecting, and repairing spring and pilot operated PRVs. You will follow manufacturer manuals and critical dimensions to ensure high-quality repairs in field and shop settings.

You will mentor apprentices and lead safety trainings while maintaining knowledge of ASME, NBIC, and API codes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-year experience conducting valve repair, testing, reconditioning, or modification of relief valves.
• Experience in a lead role is preferred.
• Proven ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Proven ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to read manufacture manuals and critical dimensions for repair.
• Understanding of ASME, VR & NBIC regulations.
• Computer skills, including MS Office, MS Xcel.
• Standard First Aid/CPR with AED, OSHA 30, and Safeland, with preference for OSHA 500.

Responsibilities

• Mentor’s technicians in all aspects of PSV related work onsite and in the shop.
• Performs field work and demonstrate the proficient performance of all valve repair procedures.
• Maintains knowledge of ASME, NBIC, and API codes.
• Teaches/mentors apprentice-level employees to become leads.
• Tests and repairs all spring-operated and pilot operated relief valves including AGCO, Consolidated, Crosby, Farris, Mercer, Taylor, etc.
• Services API/ANSI/other valves per customer and valve specifications.
• Maintains complete familiarity with testing/setting vapor and liquid valves under NBBIC and company VR manual.
• Follows manufacture manuals and critical dimension for repair.
• Order parts for upcoming work.
• Leads activities, including safety training and safety meetings, for all staff.
• Ensures paperwork/reports are complete and accurate; job tickets submitted for invoicing.
• Participation/compliance with company safety programs & company policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
