Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Processes whey by using various machines.

Essential Functions

• Operate machines to process whey into WPI powder and salibra – includes, but is not limited to pasteurizers, CIP systems, UF, ROK, MF, VMF, polisher, and dryers
• Take assigned in-processing samples
• Troubleshoot problems with equipment when needed making necessary adjustments
• Keep work area clean
• Complies with all HACCP, GMP, and safety programs
• Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.
• Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)
• Safely handle, measure, mix, and dispose of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals used in the Clean-In-Place (CIP) process in accordance with established procedures, safety data sheets (SDS), and company safety policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Accurate in taking samples and performing required tests
• Knowledge of USDA, FDA, SQF and customer requirements for a food manufacturing plant
• Knowledge of Sustainability and EPA requirements for a manufacturing plant
• Ability to operate (or learn to operate) necessary equipment
• Excellent record required in safety, attendance, and punctuality
• Ability to stand and walk the entire shift if needed
• Ability to read and write instructions in English
• Knowledge of the proper use of all cleaning chemicals
• Must be able to work weekends, and overtime as required
