Job summary

Mountain Area Health Education Center in Asheville, NC seeks a Provider Educator to empower clinicians through education on clinical documentation, coding excellence, quality of care, and compliance. You will translate standards into practical guidance and create engaging educational materials.

Join our Audit and Education Team to lead trainings, offer one-on-one coding coaching, review audits with providers, and partner with the Provider Auditor to ensure consistent standards and continuous

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• National certification: CCS (AHIMA) or CPC (AAPC) required.
• Experience in Healthcare Administration, Billing & Coding in OP or IP settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review providers' audits and provide education and feedback.
• Collaborate with the auditor to schedule audits and provide guidance.
• Conduct education/training and present final audit findings to staff and physicians.
• Provide one-on-one coding assistance in clinical settings after patient encounters.
• Design and implement coder education, continuing education, and Medical Staff education programs.
• Establish and monitor performance and maintain documentation of progress.
• Deliver training materials addressing deficiencies identified in audits while complying with regulations.
