Job summary

Frontage Laboratories in Chicago, IL seeks an experienced Provantis System Administrator to support Safety & Toxicology operations at our site. The role focuses on Provantis data acquisition, study setup, reporting, and ensuring GLP-compliant data integrity.

The candidate will configure studies, assist study teams, manage datasets and tables, and participate in testing, upgrades, and validation with IT. Strong independent work habits are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related field is required.
• Hands-on experience with Provantis Data Acquisition System in a nonclinical toxicology setting.
• Knowledge of GLP-regulated study design and execution.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a GLP environment.
• Experience with Provantis upgrades, validation, or UAT is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Provantis administrator for Safety & Toxicology, including study setup and data reporting.
• Partner with Study Directors to establish nonclinical studies including parameters, groups, animals, and endpoints.
• Support data tables, reports, and SEND datasets; resolve data discrepancies and system issues.
• Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and training materials; train users.
• Support Provantis testing, upgrades, and new functionality with IT and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with QA, IT, and Safety & Toxicology to maintain GLP compliance and inspections readiness.
• Identify opportunities to improve Provantis-based data acquisition and reporting processes.

Our Chicago, IL., site provides toxicology testing and research laboratory services and specialized pre-clinical studies in support of pharmaceutical and biotechnology products.

Position/Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Provantis System Administrator to support the Safety and Toxicology operations at our Chicago site. The successful candidate will have strong hands-on knowledge of the Provantis® Data Acquisition System and its application in nonclinical toxicology studies.

This individual will be responsible for setting up and maintaining nonclinical studies within Provantis, supporting Study Directors and study teams with data acquisition and reporting, generating study data tables, troubleshooting system-related issues, and helping ensure that Provantis is used effectively and consistently in a GLP-regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary Provantis administrator for Safety & Toxicology, including study setup, configuration, data acquisition, reporting, and ongoing user support.
• Partner with Study Directors and in-life personnel to establish and maintain nonclinical studies, including study parameters, groups, animals, observations, endpoints, and protocol amendments.
• Support data tables, reports, and SEND datasets, including review and resolution of data discrepancies and system-related issues.
• Maintain system documentation, SOPs, work instructions, and training materials; train and support Study Directors, Study Coordinators, and other users.
• Support Provantis testing, upgrades, configuration changes, validation/UAT, and new functionality in partnership with IT and relevant stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, IT, and Safety & Toxicology to maintain GLP compliance, data integrity, and inspection readiness, including support for audits and regulatory inspections.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve the efficiency, consistency, and quality of Provantis-based data acquisition and reporting processes.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Hands-on experience with Provantis Data Acquisition System in a nonclinical research, toxicology, preclinical CRO, or pharma/biotech environment.
• Strong understanding of nonclinical toxicology study design and execution, including experience with common study types such as repeat-dose, reproductive/developmental toxicology, carcinogenicity, and safety pharmacology.
• Experience setting up and managing Provantis studies and generating data tables, reports, and study-related outputs.
• Experience with Provantis upgrades, validation, UAT, or implementation is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and support study/system activities in a GLP-regulated environment.

Salary: $45,000 - 55,000, based on experience.
