Job summary

Matrix Research, Inc. in Dayton, Ohio seeks a Prototyping Operations and Capture Lead to grow fabrication, electronics assembly, and unmanned flight-testing capabilities while expanding DoD and commercial engagements.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, oversee lab operations, safety, calibration, budgeting, and labor-rate management, and drive growth through capture efforts, customer relationships, and proposal support.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience spanning engineering, manufacturing, prototyping operations, and business development.
• Proven track record winning new business and developing customer relationships.
• Experience translating customer needs into funded contracts or partnerships.
• Hands-on background in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and rapid prototyping.
• Experience managing lab or prototyping facility operations and budgeting.
• Ability to supervise a technical team and manage facility hourly rates.
• U.S. citizenship capable of obtaining DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the prototyping and fabrication business by expanding external engagement and capturing new contracts.
• Supervise engineers and technicians across laboratories and oversee facility operations, safety, calibration, and capital planning.
• Develop growth strategies and maintain relationships with defense and commercial customers; support capture and proposals.
• Ensure utilization, budgeting, and rate management support profitability.
