Job summary

Qualifications

• Four year college degree preferred in either Industrial Design or an Engineering discipline; or experiential equivalent required.
• SolidWorks and/or CAD/CAM proficiency.
• Interpretation of control drawings and sketches into physical samples.
• Experience with model shop tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Plans, maintains and executes model shop workflow to improve workload visibility and billing.
• Plans, prioritizes and assigns detailed work for model and machine shops.
• Coordinates planning for projects with engineering, product assurance and production.
• Creates and develops prototype patterns and tooling designs.
• Fabricates prototypes, tooling and end products; produces low-rate/pilot items.
• Trains and directs less experienced model makers; ensures quality output.
• Maintains equipment and workspace; stays current with new technology.
