Job summary

Haast Autonomous in Pendleton, OR is building an autonomous aircraft network for time-sensitive medical logistics. As a Mechanical Design & Prototyping Engineer, you’ll help design and build the physical aircraft systems that enable our autonomous network, with a strong emphasis on tailoring solutions to customer needs and rapid prototyping.

You’ll own CAD for airframes and mechanical systems, prototype with 3D printing and composites, and work with avionics packaging and flight-test support to

Qualifications

• Strong CAD skills across major platforms (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape, CATIA, NX).
• Experience turning designs into real hardware and iterating with customer feedback.
• Solid understanding of structures, load paths, fasteners, and manufacturability.

Responsibilities

• Design airframes, structures, mechanisms, mounts, fixtures for prototype hardware.
• Own CAD for airframe and mechanical systems, ensure manufacturability.
• Design payload bays, landing gear, motor mounts, avionics mounts and access panels.
• Build prototypes with 3D printing, composites, foam, carbon fiber; iterate from user tests.
